Good job on the web site. Every thing looks great. So does this mean I need to buy tickets for July 17 thu July 30, 2009 for Alaska. Let me know if these dates are correct.

March 17th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
I just saw the web site and wanted to express how upset that i am that the entire family is not there for viewing. Unless you name the next fish you catch “Brandy” and that works for me. Just kidding..great web site
March 17th, 2008 at 11:58 pm
Very nice! Love the large images and Video. You do not see too many that clear on the net. I will check in here and there to see whats new.
March 20th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
You boys have potential! It was fun time-warping the video segments of your 2007 fishing trip to Alaska. Brought back those “been there/done that” memories.
When you are ready to return to the Great Land, I truly suggest Kodiak Island. It’s right up your alley, shorter hikes, less crowds, and improved species based on what you guys like to do.
I can show you the way…

Mark,
Just looked at the brown blast video. Your site shows me the weekend trips I take for granted as routine, are something I should be thankful for and remember. I am humbled. I sent a link to few friends that will appreciate your work as well.
Please continue on! Hope you come aboard sometime.

Love the web page, keep it up the vidos are a joy to watch…..
April 14th, 2008 at 6:34 am
This is just to let you know that even fishing and outdoor freaks from Germany visited your site. Your videos and slide shows are really great and rather professional. I am glad that Brett recommended your site and provided the link for me. I particularly enjoyed the Alaskan part as this reminded me of my two trips to Alaska, one with a good old friend of mine who taught me some fishing when I was young and the second one with my two oldest sons when they have graduaded from college.
Great job, I will recommend your site to others

WOW!!! I really miss all of you back in Michigan. What a terrific job on this website and the videos, who knew you had such cinamatic potential. It was fun to watch all of the fun videos of the people I so miss and love…I wanna be there. I hear you are coming out to Wyoming to do a little fishing and camping in the Wind River Mountains, you won’t be dissapointed. It is very beautiful here but I still miss my Michigan. Give my best to Sharon and all of the gang. Much love from Wyoming..She Kris

August 18th, 2008 at 12:21 am
enjoyed your website. My grandfather used to have a cabin near Bear Creek west of Brethern many years ago. I have pictures of years ago when the Coho first came into the Manistee and the fisherman were allowed to snag them. Thank heavans they got that stopped.
Am fishing mostly on the P.M. now in the flys only section. Perhaps I’ll get back over to t he Manistee sometime- looks like the fishing may be equally as good there - although it also looks like it’s not a secret based on the number of folks scene in the pictures. Just curious - are there walk in sports on the M. or L.M. that aren’t too croweded during the salmon run ?
Best regards,

Thank you for taking the time and effort to share your experiences so that other may live vicariously through you.

Mark,
Loved the pictures of the flood on the river - would have been amazing to personally see. Looks like you and Sharon had a nice leisurely river/lake trip up and back on the river.
Also loved seeing your neighborhood pictures (except for the snakes). Looks like your place on the river has SO MUCH to enjoy all seasons of the year. Your pictures are so clear and vivid! I want you to bring your camera in to the office sometime and show it to me.
Thanks for sharing! Please keep it up.

WMcConnel……sorry, but somehow I deleted your post. Appreciate your stopping by. The lake we fished for Goldens at just short of 11,000 was Crescent Lake in Wyoming. Interestingly enough when we fished Alaska the year before we fished for Grayling in another Crescent Lake.
June 22nd, 2009 at 4:01 pm
Thanks for responding.Love Wyoming and Montana. Have fished them since 1991. We tried to fish Copper Lakes for golden but dumped our atv at about 11000ft. Scary but makes a great story for my grand kids. Also love the Big Horns and Bear Tooth Mts and Yellostone basin. Good idea for the
photo contest.

Hi,
I found your site from a link on the outdoorsdirectory alaka fishing forum.
I much appreciate your “after the trip” report. Lots of folks ask advise there but don’t always follow through with their stories, experiences and photos and thanks, so more credit to you for doing so.
A group of my friends and myself are in the planning stages now. I’m sure that ODD will be a big help thanks to folks like you. Thanks also for the references and links to those outfits that you used. We’ll be looking into them. If you’re open to answering a few questions and offering some advise to us yourself we’d much appreciate it too.
Thanks again, - Jay
August 12th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
Mark, It looks as though you have lots of good memories that are well organized so that you can almost re-live them all over again. I think it is kind of inspiring in a way. I have a few pictures of my hunting and fishing trips over the years, but nothing quite like this. I think I may find myself taking the old camera into the woods more often to help preserve the adventures!
Also, that Alaska trip looks amazing. I’m sure it seemed adventurous, but at the same time kind of crazy. I think I would have at times found myself wondering… what the hell did I get myself into?
Keep up the pictures, and good luck with the new website.

Mark, I watched your video of all the wildlife around your house. People who watch that will think you live in the U.P. or think that everyone in Michigan has animals in their backyard. I enjoyed it.
I have something in common with your friend who has gone to all of those baseball stadiums. He has seen more of them, but this is one of my goals to see as many as possible. I’ll see you at work,,,,

Mark,
I want to thank you for showing me such a wonderful experiance on the Manastee River fishing trip. I can’t get that trip off my mind. We have alot of hunting and fishing in Texas but there is nothing that compares to the scenery of that trip. I also want to thank you and the whole group for the gracious hospitality that you guys gave me. and the fishing tips (1,2,3) (reel, reel, reel) ha ha. You have great patience. I defenitly have to say that trip was the best time I have had since I moved to Michigan.
Thanks to All
Rusty
P.S. I was calling sheep **** Your videos are great, I think that I have sent your website to everybody I know back in Texas.
October 18th, 2009 at 1:14 pm
Hey Steve, I will have to work with Chris to get more of his pictures posted up. He’s been to a ton of Stadiums.
Was glad to see you up there Rusty. It is a great time and you’ll have to schedule more time for next year. Glad you liked the video, I thought the snoring part was great:)

Thanks for the photos and slideshows. My friend and I just did 13.9 miles of the Paw Paw from 44th to Lawrence the other day. It was a great way to enjoy the winter.
January 22nd, 2010 at 6:21 am
Have always wanted to take a run on the upper stretches. I am told that if you go up the Paw Paw far enough you can get into Brook Trout water. One day I will go looking:)
January 24th, 2010 at 7:56 pm
Mark and Chris,
Best way to access Bear Lake, Faler, Clear, Daphne et al. is to do the Mill Creek (Osbourne Mountain) Route. The views are phenomenal.. worth the uphill grind. Don’t EVEN think of going up Clear Creek past the natural bridge. The Forest Service abandoned trail upkeep after the ‘89 fire, and it’s nothing but deadfall. Took us an entire day to go the 4 miles through the mess. That said, Clear Lake IS on of the most spectacular places I’ve ever been… you can still get to it going DOWN a really steep trail from the outlet of Faler. Clear, like Faler, has goldens. For the record, Bear Lake has some HUGE rainbows. We were there again a few years ago, and the smallest thing I caught was 3+ lbs. Let me know your regular email and I’ll ship you some shots of Clear Lake.

Hey. I’ve seen you on the forum board for Alaska. I’m from Wasilla and just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your input. I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer and having the ability to rewatch the videos, lets me catch the details I missed the first time. I especially apprecaited the comments you had in the Sheep Hunting thread. Not having a proper example growing up left me a bit ethically challenged, by reading about and watching others people hunts I’m making progress. See ya back on the Alaska forum.

Hi Mark,
Enjoyed seeing the Brown Blast vid. Great to get back on the water, eh?
Did you have any luck remembering the name of that chest holster source ? (44mag, 6″ bbl.)

May 13th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Mark,
I loved the pictures and videos. I am planning a similar trip with my teenage sons this August, but don’t have has much time as you had for your trip. The Mill Creek route appears to be much shorter from what I have read and would like to go that route. However, it is off trail and there is not much written on it. I noticed that you received a comment from Bob Shettel on January 24, 2010 and he recommended the Mill Creek route. Could you forward my message and email address to Bob so I may discuss the route with him? THanks!

July 17th, 2010 at 7:29 am
I can’t believe you thought the steps for Uncle Tom’s trail had been so poor. LOL. In our mid-50’s, last year we hiked up Mt. Washburn in the morning and I thought we have been accomplished with the climbs but with the afternoon my wife surprised me by asking to do Uncle Tom’s. It took us a bit to climb back up but what a nice look at within the falls and also the canyon.
